COLUMBUS, OHIO, October 1, 2007 – Edward Howard, the longest-established independent public relations firm in the nation, today announced that Jeffrey G. La Rue has joined its Columbus office as a senior account manager, where he will be working on a range of assignments, particularly for many of the firm’s public affairs clients.

La Rue has extensive media relations, communication and public affairs experience, having worked on behalf of cities, counties, associations and private organizations over the past 13 years. He has served as communications director for the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, as district representative for U.S. Senator George Voinovich, and as community relations liaison and legislative aide for the City of Columbus. La Rue has also worked at the firm of Paul Werth Associates and was most recently a partner in The Street Consulting.

La Rue is a 1993 graduate of Muskingum College and is active in several Columbus-area community and civic organizations, including board president of the Franklin Park Area Association, the Franklin Park Conservatory, West-Side Fire Task Force, American Red Cross, Roy G. Biv Gallery, and Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission.

La Rue lives in Columbus’ Franklin Park neighborhood with his wife, Glenda, and their daughter, Alexandra.
